Welcome

Welcome to the Thame Theatre Technical Wiki.

What is a Wiki?

Taken from the Hawaiian word wiki meaning very quick, Google now defines a wiki as being "a website or database developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing any user to add and edit content." Just as you might consider that Wikipedia is a reference manual for the world, this somewhat smaller wiki could be considered a reference manual for the theatre (or at least for some of it).

Introduction

This wiki was initially designed for James McCann to record random pieces of information pertaining to the theatre. Although it is on the internet, it cannot be edited without permission. For the wiki to have the broadest possible use, it is envisaged that most theatre members who want to, will be able to view it and a small select few will be able to contribute to it.

Adverts

This Wiki may (although shouldn't) display some adverts, although not many. However, if you wish to remove adverts from all of your browsing, click here, wait for Ad Block Plus to install and then reload this page.

Layout

The main topics (Technical, Plays & Shows, Purchases, Fault Log and Tutorials) will appear as a menu on every page, together with a link to some Wiki Admin pages and an Index which lists every page in the wiki. Some of these main topics will then invoke a sub menu, which will appear below the main menu.

If you cannot find what you're looking for but have told that It's on the wiki, then simply have a look through the Index or use the Search box above.

If you get hopelessly lost, then you can always get back to the starting point by:

  • Clicking on the theatre picture up in the top-left hand corner
  • Clicking Main page (just below the theatre picture)
  • Clicking Home in whichever menu is along the top of the page
  • Reloading from the link you arrived by.

Notes

To request editing rights, please email James McCann, though, like becoming a Jedi, you'll first have to prove your worth so that I can trust that it won't get broken.
